Horse Australia 2008 - FARRIERS

One of the highlights of Horse Australia will be the International Farriers and Blacksmiths Competition. A broad programme of events over three days will cover a range of skill levels as well as social events, seminars and demonstrations.
Competitors will compete in a series of forging and shoeing events for a share of nearly $15,000 AUD in prize money, the largest offered in Australia for an event of this kind. There is a guaranteed purse of $1000 AUD for each of the top five competitors. The winner will be awarded a hand made trophy by Dan Davie, twice World Creative Forging champion and $5000AUD in prize money.
The events will comprise of shoeing, forging and blacksmithing, with points awarded by internationally recognised judge Jim Blurton, World Champion Farrier 2005 who has been a practising farrier for over 25 years.
